In four days (November 1) I have the opportunity to start another National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). I still have my first novel to edit and my second to finish & edit. BUT, I also have novel #3 running around in my head, SCREAMING to be written. So – crowdsourcing for input: Do I participate in NaNoWriMo and write novel #3 or do I spend November polishing #1 & 2 so they can be published? What say you friends?

Do characters need to be “likable”? I was told in writing a good antagonist that even he must have some likable trait or something with which others can empathize. Even Hannibal Lector has oddly redeeming qualities. Is this important in a good book character or can someone just be truly and simply evil with nothing likable about them at all to work in a work of fiction?
